Wet cleaning


Today's wood flooring is much more resistant to water. But that doesn't mean that you can drench the floor with water.

Water and wood do not mix. Never clean your hardwood floor with water. Also, avoid using steam cleaner on hardwood as it can warp the floorboards.
 

Wearing shoes inside the house


This is one of the most common things we do every day. However, hardwood flooring can get damaged very easily. The dirt and mud can bring scratch on the wooden floor. High-heeled shoes can also cause denting in hardwood. Taking your shoes off before coming in will not only keep damage away from your floor, it also helps keep the house clean.
 

Floor Cleaning


Blinds, shutters and drapes may not be what you had in mind when you built your home, but these window treatments can protect your hardwood floor from UV damage. Keep the blinds or curtains closed during the day to prevent fading.
